Recently the team at Kent Pallet Trucks delivered 6 EFL 252 Lithium-Ion Forklifts to Walkers the Builders Merchant Limited in Orpington, UK.

Established in 1979 the company started as a shop in Leigh Hill, St Paul’s Cray and in 1984 the company moved to two sites on Cray Avenue in Orpington. In 1991 the company was consolidated into one site at the current location on Cray Avenue just off the junction with Poverest Road and Kent Road. In 2003 Walkers more than doubled in size by acquiring the company next door and is as it stands today.

KPT Director, Laurence Bond comments

“The EFL 252 is the perfect machine for Walkers. This model combines the advantages of IC trucks and electric trucks and has transformed the Walkers fleet from out dated diesel machines to modern lithium-ion forklift trucks.

As a very busy builders merchants Walkers can operate for 10 hours daily with the need for forklifts throughout the entire day.

The benefit of opportunity charging is a huge asset for the team and reduced maintenance costs are an added bonus. Plus, with the help of EP telematics, we can see the long term cost of operation will be reduced too. “

A Great success for KPT and Walkers…
